Yeah, I think we’d move there if the opportunity presented itself.

Answer for question 4158.
But more in the spirit of the question, I’d say Popoids and Construx. A few days ago I looked up the Universal Connector Kit to see if any more pieces had been added (there haven’t been) and got to thinking about my favorite building blocks from when I was a kid. Popoids were these plastic tubes, like the bendy bit of a straw, that attached to plastic blocks. And Construx were kind of like plastic construction beams that could be built up into three dimensions.
Why? Honestly, just for nostalgia’s sake.
Worst customer service? There’s a tie: First is the Amtrak agent at the Champaign, Illinois station who refused to let me check a bag because it was less than an hour to when the train was scheduled to arrive. The fact that the train was running late and wasn’t actually due in the station for three hours didn’t make any difference to him.
Also in the running is the entirety of the Denny’s we went to the night of my high school prom. The waitress was rude and slow, there was a grease fire in the kitchen, after waiting 40 minutes for our appetizers the waitress told my friend’s date that they were out of mozarella sticks, and to top it off there were a couple of drunk guys who kept playing with all the creamers in the restaurant.

Writer’s Block: My Town
My town is the only one in New York that has a single rest-stop for both directions on the Interstate. It’s built in between the Eastbound and Westbound lanes, on the median, and there’s a pedestrian bridge that crosses the Thruway itself over to the parking lot on each side. Which means that when you stop you always get an exciting view like this one.

Writer’s Block: The Hunger Games
As a kid I would have loved to have seen an adaptation of Diane Duane’s So You Want to Be a Wizard. As an adult I’m afraid it would have gotten so screwed up, especially back in the late eighties and early nineties.
Now, I think I’d still be tickled to see an adaptation of Bunnicula or The Westing Game, although I think the latter would be better as a mini-series.
Writer’s Block: Time is (not) on My Side
I know it’s cliched, but my worst wait was probably at an airport. I think it was something like 90 minutes to get to the ticketing counter and another 45 minutes to get through security. And this was months prior to 9-11.
