This comment in the latest news post epitomizes what ticks me off so badly about the site vs. user conflicts of the last couple years – the idea that anyone who uses the site differently than you do is not a “real” user of LiveJournal. It’s bad enough when it’s LiveJournal, the corporate identity, that’s making assumptions and being dismissive of alternate users, but when it’s coming from fellow users it’s particularly galling.
My opinion has always been that anyone who logs into LJ in any way is a real user of LJ. Whether they’re here to keep a journal, leave comments, or read a friend’s entries they’re all equally valid users.
