Michagain J Frog, eat your heart out!

Last week I started hearing this odd buzzing-chirping noise coming from the corner of the dining room with the aquarium and phone and stereo. At first I thought it was the fluorescent light on the aquarium, then maybe the batteries in the phone handset, then maybe the surge protector the stereo is plugged into. None of these turned out to be the case. But last night I fed the frog (Frederick {pronounced Fro-der-ick) von Frogenstein) and when he pressed himself against the glass the chirping continued for a long while.

“No way,” I thought. “No way is that tiny inch and a half frog making a noise that I can hear halfway across the apartment.” But I looked it up and African Dwarf frog males do indeed “sing” and videos on YouTube sounded just like what we heard! So here is Frederick von Frogenstein’s YouTube debut!
