So tonight after the “Burn This” run through, I went to the reception following “Spring Storm” for Dakin Williams, Tennessee Williams younger brother. He told us how much he enjoyed the play, and how he thinks this play could rnak right up there with “Streetcar..” and “Cat..” He was an older gentleman, of course, with very nice bolo tie that Karolyn commented on later. He told us some great stories about growing up with his brother, about how “The Glass Menagerie” is really all about his family. Their father was left out becuase he didn’t get along with Tom (or Tennessee) and Dakin was left out becuase Tom was jealous of him.
We got to hear why Tenessee Williams was buried in St. Louis, a city he hated so much. “Becuase he was dead and he needed to be buried.” expalined Dakin. He also said that his brother was murdered, and a book he was writing would prove it.
Ughh. I’m tired. I’ll finish this tomorrow.
